Jacksonville Special Election Update

Posted By: Johnmichael Fernandez

On Tuesday, February 22, the City of Jacksonville held a special election for the at-large group 3 seat. This seat has been vacant since September due to the death of former Mayor and Councilmember Tommy Hazouri. The preliminary unofficial results showed that Nick Howland was victorious in beating out Trayce Polson by 4,486 votes. Howland took 51.69% of the total vote with a 20.36% voter turnout with a city of over 650,000 voters.

This is good news for the cty as there will no longer be a vacancy meaning that it will be business as usual as we move forward in the current term.
