Today, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 20- 94 suspending evictions for non-payment of rent in Florida for the next 45 days. The order also states that nothing in the executive order shall be construed as relieving an individual from their obligation to make mortgage payments or rent payments.
Although the issuance of this order was unexpected, the Florida Apartment Association and its affiliates are encouraged that the Governor noted that residents are still responsible for their obligation to make rent payments under the order.
